The old tea company, Tsuboichi bought an old Japanese house which was built over 400 years ago, and renovated it into a nice tea room that everybody loves.

It employs the tea ceremony guru, Sen no Rikyu’s idea,” Shichu no Sankyo”, which means even in the town, feel like in the mountain or in the nature.

Yuki Saryo has moved to the first floor (the ground floor) of Namba City South Building in 2016.

It’s very healthy and convenient. I like organic food, but it is hard to find in the southern part of Osaka.

Yuki Saryo by Solviva, (有機茶寮 by Solviva) offers Japanese fast food, such as brown-rice balls, soup, curry and rice ( if you considered it’s Japanese), and some desserts and soft drinks. which is on the second floor in Namba City.
e0046748_23221217.jpg

My favorite menu is this.
e0046748_23223367.jpg

It’s called “Mampuku-jiru Teishoku”. It’s the combo of miso soup with vegetable, mainly roots, two brown-rice balls. You can choose two kinds. If you are a vegan, choose the ones such as walnut, plum, and so on. At the counter, there is English explanation for the ingredients of brown-ice balls.

When the weather is nice, you can eat outside.

A restaurant in mountain valley

e0046748_0203885.jpg

In Osaka, there is a restaurant in the mountain valley.
e0046748_020522.jpg

They are open for lunch time, and tea time after 2 o’clock.
The name of the restaurant is “Hanana”, and it is in Izumi City, the southeast part of Osaka Prefecture.
e0046748_0225154.jpg

It’s not far from the center city.

Well, you need a car to get there though.
e0046748_0223338.jpg

They serve vegetables grown in their garden.
They are organic.
I had tempura, and I love tempura.
e0046748_0212130.jpg

The owner is originally a lumberjack.

They even have kilns where they use firewood.
e0046748_022833.jpg

They bake bread in there.
I bought some and it’s the most delicious bread I have ever had!
e0046748_0231743.jpg

So nice, and I felt like I had gone to some resort place,,,, just for lunch time.

Great place to feel the nature.

It's the season of persimmons

Many people in Japan like to have persimmon trees in their gardens.
Even in a big city like Osaka, you can see persimmon trees here and there.
Now is the season of fruits of persimmons.
e0046748_13352720.jpg

You should eat persimmons from fruit shops or markets, or else, it could be too bitter if you take one of these.

Pancake at Brother's Cafe

I had been wanting to eat good pancake for a long time.
e0046748_23381524.jpg

I heard “Brother’s Café” is famous for its pancakes so I had “snack” there when I was around Namba.
e0046748_23391057.jpg

e0046748_23383436.jpg

Inside, it’s very bright, especially on a sunny day.
e0046748_23392087.jpg

I had “French” pancake. I guess it’s between French toast and pancake, which means pancake with lots of eggs, maybe.
e0046748_23395556.jpg

I had coffee too.

Very Good, if you don’t mind waiting for a long time.

I had cake and coffe at Tea Lounge on the 22nd floor of Hotel Monterey Grasmere Osaka in Namba.

Kind of expensive, but Starbucks, Dotor, or San Morco Cafe don't have this atmosphere.

These days, I see a lot of tourists around this hotel. I think this hotel has a good access to go around Osaka.

Taste of New Orleans

e0046748_2244560.jpg

Have you ever been to New Orleans?
e0046748_22443722.jpg

Café du monde is a famous café in New Orleans.
e0046748_22445495.jpg

The one in French Quarter is my favorite. Good café au lait and beignets, street performers’ jazz playing and that’s what I miss.

e0046748_22451978.jpg

Now I found Café du Monde in Osaka. It’s a chain coffee shop in Japan, not as big as Starbucks, though.
e0046748_22454611.jpg

Beignets were almost the same, I guess.

I had Sukiyaki at a certain place in Kyoto.
e0046748_22131339.jpg

Sukiyaki is a popular style in Japan, but what I always have is Kansai style of Sukiyaki.

Here's appetizer:
e0046748_22144255.jpg

Well, this Sukiyaki restaurant is a very distinguished and expensive one.
e0046748_22164124.jpg

The beef they serve is what I can’t afford in everyday life.

This was a kind of special occasion.

This is how we make Sukiyaki in Kansai.

Grease the pot:
e0046748_2217470.jpg

Put sugar in it:
e0046748_22172547.jpg

Fry just a little of meat, and eat. Don't forget to beat the egg.
e0046748_22183730.jpg
e0046748_221847100.jpg

Put other ingredients like vegetables and tofu.
e0046748_22191838.jpg

Pour soup called warishita which consists of mirin, soy sauce, and so on.
e0046748_22194112.jpg

Simmer for a while
e0046748_2220281.jpg

Ready!
e0046748_2221374.jpg

Yum!

I ate at IKEA, OSAKA, but....

e0046748_17274614.jpg

I went to IKEA, Osaka, with one of my friends.
e0046748_1728373.jpg

Well, I’ve been there several times.
e0046748_17283496.jpg

This time, I had to eat there because of my schedule, and there was nowhere else to eat around there.
e0046748_17285869.jpg
e0046748_1729967.jpg

Looked good.
e0046748_17292993.jpg
e0046748_17293939.jpg
e0046748_17294695.jpg

But how tasteless the fish and vegetable was!
e0046748_1730765.jpg

I'll never eat there again, I guess.

This is the hallway of Izakaya restaurant that I was taken by the group of people.
e0046748_024328.jpg

It’s like an art.
e0046748_0244920.jpg

Their service was not so good, because there were not enough people working. However, the food was good.
e0046748_0252266.jpg

The Izakaya is located near Sakaisuji Hommachi Station, but I don't remember the name...
