Hi! I'm Miyuki, a Japanese woman from Osaka, Japan. This blog is mainly about the introduction of places, events, and various stuff in southern part of Osaka City, Osaka, Kansai, and Japan

Yuki Saryo has moved to the first floor (the ground floor) of Namba City South Building in 2016.

It’s very healthy and convenient. I like organic food, but it is hard to find in the southern part of Osaka.

Yuki Saryo by Solviva, (有機茶寮 by Solviva) offers Japanese fast food, such as brown-rice balls, soup, curry and rice ( if you considered it’s Japanese), and some desserts and soft drinks. which is on the second floor in Namba City.

My favorite menu is this.
e0046748_23223367.jpg

It’s called “Mampuku-jiru Teishoku”. It’s the combo of miso soup with vegetable, mainly roots, two brown-rice balls. You can choose two kinds. If you are a vegan, choose the ones such as walnut, plum, and so on. At the counter, there is English explanation for the ingredients of brown-ice balls.

When the weather is nice, you can eat outside.

Snow in Osaka

e0046748_228562.jpg

It was very snowy in Osaka today, as well as in Tokyo. Tokyo has more snow today.
Big cities like Tokyo, and Osaka have trouble especially with transportation when it snows. We are not used to snow.

In the weather like this, Hankai tram was out of service almost all day today....

Snow in Tokyo

The next day I went to Tokyo Dome, which is yesterday, Tokyo had a lot of snow.

It is rare that Tokyo has this much of snow.

In the weather like this, Shinkansen is far better than planes.
Most of he flights from Tokyo cancelled, but Shinkansen never cancelled, even though there was delay.

Tokyo Tableware Festival is now being held at Tokyo Dome until February 10.
It's annually held.

If you are in Tokyo and are interested in Japanese tableware, it’s a good place to go to.
The admission is 2,000 yen.

Mt. Fuji from Shinkansen

Whenever I go to Tokyo by Shinkansen, or Bullet Train, I can see Mt. Fuji from the window.

Kono Shrine in Tango, Kyoto

e0046748_22585091.jpg

One day bus tour is good. We can visit many places and the bus takes us there.
However, we can’t stay longer time as we want to.
e0046748_22591554.jpg

I had been wanting to visit Kono Shrine and Manai Shrine, but when I went there this time, the time was limited. The time there was too short to go to Manai Shrine.
e0046748_22594471.jpg

Kono Shrine is called “Moto Ise”, which means former Ise Shrine. Ise Shrine in Mie Prefecture is well known, but before it was settled at that place, it moved from many places to many places. Kono Shrine is the major former Ise Shrine.
e0046748_230513.jpg

In Shinto world, Amaterasu Ohmikami is in the highest rank. All other shrins follow Ise Shrine no other shrines precede Isa Shrine. So Amaterasu Ohmikami is the highest of all.
e0046748_2303710.jpg

That’s why it’s the important place.
e0046748_23255195.jpg
e0046748_2326211.jpg

It’s far from Osaka, but I would like to return to Kono Shrine and Manai Shirne again.
Manai Shrine is said (by some people) that it has something to do with Manna.
e0046748_2305850.jpg

These are very “mysterious” places.

Most shops are closed until 3rd of January, and most companies are closed until 5th this year, but major department stores and shopping centers are open from January 2nd.

Many people like to buy what we call “Fukubukuro”, Happy bags or Lucky bags, because they contain the things of twice, three time, or 4 or 5 times as much price as proper one.
e0046748_192215.jpg
e0046748_192966.jpg

There are Fukubukuro of clothes, jewelry, sweets, food, and many other things.

Traditionally, we couldn’t see inside until some years ago, but these days, there are samples to show inside, but not always.
e0046748_194781.jpg

Of course, not all of them are their favorite, but people who like Fukubukuro say, they don’t care.

It may be good for providing souvenirs, but you should be in big cities in Japan on January 2nd.

Photos taken at Kintetsu Departement Store in Abeno Harukas and &, on January 2nd, 2014.
