"The Force Awakes" of STAR WARS series is coming on December 18th.
Every Star Wars fan in the world seems to be waiting for the day, and so does in Japan.

Between Kansai Airport and Namba Station of Nankai Railway, special STAR WARS Express trains are running until May 8th, 2016.

What do you think?

I take local trains of Nankai Main Line from Namba Station at least twice a week.

Locan train means it stops at every station.

Nankai Main Line, in Japanese, Nakai Honsen has Kansai Airport Station, and there are many tourists using this line.

It’s easy to go to the city from the airport, but it seems it is not easy to get back to the airport.

e0046748_13355214.jpg

I am sometimes asked by a tourist whether or not this train goes to Kansai Airport, in a local train at Namba Station where I am not supposed to meet the people who are heading for the airport.

From Namba Station,

Only the trains whose destination is Kansai Airport go to Kansai Airport.
There are many destistinations. You have to choose the one which says “Kansai Airport”.

Do not take the train which does not say “Kansai Airport”.

Yeah, English letters are so small.

e0046748_13361848.jpg

There are 3 kinds of Airport lines:

1.Rapid: super express train. It takes about 40 minutes to the airport.
You have to pay additional 510 yen, but it is very comfortable and there is space for luggage. If you have a lot of luggage, you should take this one.
It leaves from Platform Number 9

e0046748_13352533.jpg

2.Express train. It takes about 50 minutes.
It starts at Platform Number 5 or 6.
Take the train which says "Kansai Airport"

3.Local train. It take about 90 minutes.
It leaves from platform number 7 or 8. Local trains leaves right next to the Platform for Rapid, so many people get confused that this one would go to the airport.
Some of them do, but others don’t.

Hankai Tramway Route Map

If you clidk the station's name, you can get the time table of the station you choose.

A lot of things have changed.

The fare is 210 yen.
For one day pass, Teku Teku Kippu, it's still the same 600 yen.

The station's name "Minamikasumi-cho" changed to "Shin Imamiya Ekimae Station."

You can go from Tennoji to Sakai directly now, which was not available in the past.

A restaurant in mountain valley

e0046748_0203885.jpg

In Osaka, there is a restaurant in the mountain valley.
e0046748_020522.jpg

They are open for lunch time, and tea time after 2 o’clock.
The name of the restaurant is “Hanana”, and it is in Izumi City, the southeast part of Osaka Prefecture.
e0046748_0225154.jpg

It’s not far from the center city.

Well, you need a car to get there though.
e0046748_0223338.jpg

They serve vegetables grown in their garden.
They are organic.
I had tempura, and I love tempura.
e0046748_0212130.jpg

The owner is originally a lumberjack.

They even have kilns where they use firewood.
e0046748_022833.jpg

They bake bread in there.
I bought some and it’s the most delicious bread I have ever had!
e0046748_0231743.jpg

So nice, and I felt like I had gone to some resort place,,,, just for lunch time.

Great place to feel the nature.

As I’ve been telling you, it’s hot. It’s very hot. The temperature goes up to about 37 degrees every day.
e0046748_0401338.jpg

But when it comes to festival, people get energetic.
e0046748_0404074.jpg

There was a parade of Sumiyoshi Festival on August 1.

e0046748_0405990.jpg

Children are so powerful.

And this is the famous Sumiyoshi Odori, the dancing originated at Sumiyoshi Grand Shrine and Temple about 1300 years ago.

On the same day, at the night of August 1, there is PL fireworks in Tondabayashi-City in southern part of Osaka prefecture every year.
e0046748_0443878.jpg

I saw this from the secret place in Osaka City.

It’s been hot. It’s been extremely hot these several days.

When I go to Abeno-Tennoji Area, I ride a bike for exercise, and of cause to save some money these days, but under this kind of weather, I hate to ride a bike, because it’s too hot.

Health is more important than money in this case.

So I take the Hankai Tram, which is convenient, and actually, it’s not too expensive. I should take this more often.

e0046748_17513480.jpg

This is the Tennnoji Station of Hankai Uemachi Line. This tram takes you to Hamadera Park.

e0046748_17514938.jpg

This is inside of the tram. Some girls are wearing Yukata, because there is “Sumiyoshi Festival” from July 30 to August 1. There is going to be a parade tomorrow on August 1 along the Kishu Road from Sumiyoshi Grand Shrine to Shukuin, Sakai City. It starts at Sumiyoshi Grand Shrine around 1:00 p.m.

e0046748_1752790.jpg

The girls in Yukata got off at Sumiyoshi Grand Shrine.

e0046748_17522387.jpg

This is Anryu-machi Station. Looks…. HOT!

In southern part of Osaka Prefecture, there is a city called Kishiwada.
e0046748_043164.jpg

People here are crazy about their festival, “Danjiri” held in the middle of September, which people living outside of southern part of saka Prefecture don’t understand.

Anyway, there is a small castle in Kishiwada City. It is not as big as Osaka Castle, of course, but it really is a castle.
e0046748_052089.jpg

Next to Kishiwada Castle, there is a Japanese restaurant which used to be super rich family's house and garden.
e0046748_05417.jpg
e0046748_054876.jpg
e0046748_055797.jpg

What made Kishiwada famous was the NHK drama series, “Carnation” which had been broadcast from last September to this March.

It was the story about the fashion designer, Ayako Koshino, who is a mother of world-wide known Hiroko, Junko, and Michiko Koshinos. She was from Kishiwada City.

This street was shot in the drama.
e0046748_062068.jpg

This is the store Ayako Koshino actually ran.
e0046748_064062.jpg

There is even a small museum of “Carnation”.

The Basic Rule in Osaka

e0046748_013527.jpg

You have to stand on the right when you take the escalator.

The left side is for the people in a hurry.

For your information, it’s opposite in Tokyo.
I always get confused when I go to Tokyo.

People’s destination is Minoh Falls. It’s a real waterfall in Minoh
